Showing up and being visible

Here I am showing up and being visible.

Those of you who don’t know me well may not know that I’m not a fan of being this side of the camera. I’m a self diagnosed CAS photographer. CAS = camera avoidance syndrome. For two years now I have been working on this and encouraging myself to get into more selfies & photos & encouraging myself to #fealthefearanddoitanyway 

Being visible is such an important element in business success today. With so much meeting, connecting & doing business online. However being visible is not an easy or natural way of being for lots of people ( I know this only too well!!) so whilst you may be hearing all about the importance of creating video content, blog posts & social media posts that feature you talking about how you care, appreciate & help your clients, fear may be holding you back.

So my suggestion to help this is at the very least to have a small selection of fab headshots created of you that are complimentary to you, that you’ll feel good about & that you can use as a stepping stone to get you out of your comfort zone & onto the next stage. Feeling proud of these images will mean you use them at every opportunity & it will help other people to see you as the confident expert that you are. Just because yo till now you haven’t felt confident in front of the camera has nothing to do with your skill set in your area if expertise.

So my challenge to you is this, take a moment to think about the people you want to serve, that you want to help, the reason you’re passionate about your business, the reason what you do makes a difference to some else’s life or business.

Then take a moment to experience how good that makes you feel.
